K9s for Cops Golf Scramble

The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Knights of Columbus Council 10169 will sponsor the inaugural K9s for Cops Golf Scramble on Saturday, October 21 at Cleveland Heights Golf Course in Lakeland to raise funds for purchasing dogs for the Polk County Sheriff’s K9 Unit.
Registration is $125 for individuals and $500 for a foursome. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, beverages on the course, a goody bag and an awards dinner after the tourney that includes the opportunity to take part in games and contests, as well as silent and live auctions. Registration opens at 11 am and the tournament begins at 1 pm with a shotgun start.
In addition to playing 18 holes of golf, golfers will have the opportunity to win special prizes in closest to the pin and longest drive contests. The prize for making a hole in one is a new car from lead sponsor Regal Lakeland Automotive Group, a Chevrolet, KIA, Honda, Acura and GMC dealership.

K9s for Cops is a charitable partnership between the Estates at Carpenters and the Polk County Sheriff’s K9 unit that raises funds to purchase dogs for the unit. K9s for Cops began in 2011 and since then has purchased 10 highly trained dogs which the Sheriff’s Office deploys in tracking and apprehending fugitives, guarding prisoners, searching buildings, detecting drugs and explosives, and in search and rescue missions. The unit currently includes a total of 26 dogs.
