College Sports

There are five colleges in Polk County that offer a variety of sports programs. They are:

Florida Southern College, located in Lakeland, is home to 30 NCAA National Division II championships. The majority of the college’s athletic teams participate in the Sunshine State Conference, or SSC, an NCAA Division II institution. FSC competes in Baseball, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Cross Country, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Women’s Volleyball, Water Ski, eSport, and Equestrian.

Polk State College, located in Winter Haven and Lakeland, is a NJCAA Division I school competing in Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Soccer, Softball, and Women’s Volleyball.

Southeastern University, located in Lakeland, participates in the NAIA Sun Conference and NCCAA DI South Region. Southeastern University competes in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Men’s Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Track and Field, Women’s Golf, Football and Wrestling.

Warner University, located in Lake Wales, participates in the NAIA Sun Conference. Warner University competes in Baseball, Basketball, Cheer and Dance, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.

Webber International University, located in Babson Park, participates in the NAIA Sun Conference. Webber International University competes in 12 different men’s and women’s sports, including Baseball, Softball, men’s Football, Soccer, Basketball, and both indoor and beach Volleyball, Cheer, Bowling, Cross Country, Track and Field, Tennis and Golf.
