George Blair is known worldwide for his trademark bright yellow wetsuit, but more importantly he is known and beloved as one of the best barefoot skiers in the history of the sport. Blair has become an ambassador for the sport of barefoot skiing throughout the world, making numerous television appearances on shows like The Today Show, Late Night with David Letterman, Entertainment Tonight, and many more. In addition to that, Banana George appeared in the motion picture “Captiva Island”. Those are just his accomplishments off the water. While on the water, Blair has set records for barefoot jumping and of the 18 National Championships he competed in, he medalled in 15 of them. He has performed in 7 World Championships. Blair also was included in the 1989 Guinness Book of World Records and was named Man of the Year and Ambassador for the American Barefoot Club four times. He is also a member of the American Water Ski Hall of Fame.
