Bob Murphy
Bob was born on February 14th, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Mulberry High School and went on to the University of Florida and got a degree in Physical Education. . He started playing golf after a football injury sidelined him. Bob Murphy became a professional golfer on both the PGA and Senior champions tour. His career on the PGA tour went from 1968-1993 and he accumulated a total of 5 tour wins. After a long time with the PGA tour he joined the Champions tour in 1993 and has won 11 champion tour events since joining. He then became an analyst for many golf events. In 1998 he won the Ben Hogan award for making it through the pain and suffering he faced with his severe arthritis by winning the 11 events he did . He was also the national spokesperson for the Hook-a-kid on golf program and he is a spokesperson for many charities. He is also a part of the Polk County High Schools hall of fame, he was inducted in 1998.
