Doug Gordin has been Florida Southern College’s men’s golf coach for 16 years, and has led the Moccasins to five NCAA Division II National Championships (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2010). With five national titles to his credit, Gordin ranks sixth among all NCAA coaches in national championships won. In addition to the team titles, the Mocs have produced three individual national champions under Gordin – Matt Saglio (1999), Jeff Klauk (2000) and Steve Sokol (2001).

Doug Gordin was named National Coach of the Year in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000 by the Golf Coaches Association of America. In addition to the four championship finishes under Gordin, the Moccasins were second in 2001 and third in 2002. His teams have won five Sunshine State Conference titles and finished second three times. Gordin was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in 2001. In 1996, Golfweek Magazine named Gordin as its National Coach of the Year. In 2007, he was named to the Florida Southern College Sports Hall of Fame. Doug Gordin has served as President of the Golf Coaches Association of America and was inducted into the Delaware Hayes High School Hall of Fame.
