Dr. Edward Jeffries
As the Head Tennis Coach at Florida Southern Dr. Edward Jeffries compiled a 261-158 record and led the women’s tennis team to 11 Sunshine State Conference championships in 18 seasons. While coaching at Florida Southern, Edward was named Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year six times, United States Professional Tennis Association – Florida Coach of the Year twice and the Wilson-Intercollegiate Tennis Association Coach of the Year once.
During his tenure at Florida Southern Edward Jeffries served as an assistant coach for a number of athletic teams including soccer and baseball. As a Professor in the college’s Physical Education Department Dr. Jeffries was named Florida Southern’s Professor of the Year by Omicron Delta Kappa in 1999.
Edward Jeffries was inducted into the Sunshine State Conference Hall of Fame in 1994, the Bridgewater University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Florida Southern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.
